For a standard resident kit, the source guide recommends five lenses: Volk 20D, Volk 28D, Volk 90D, Volk Super 66, and a Volk 4-mirror gonio lens with no flange and no handle.

Core Lens Logic
Larger lens rings
A larger ring can give a brighter, wider image, but it is usually harder to maneuver in tight orbits and through small pupils.
Do not overbuy early
Start with a reliable core set. Add specialty lenses after you know which exam settings frustrate you: small pupils, photography, peripheral sweeps, nerve detail, or pediatric exams.
Gonio default
For routine clinic gonioscopy, a no-flange four-mirror lens is the practical default because it avoids coupling fluid and supports dynamic indentation exams.
